It’s always interesting to reflect on where you are in the great scheme of things. Oh, and you can win some cool prizes like a free iPad, HD FlipMino Cam, cash prizes, and more!
Everybody starts from zero, nothing. You don’t start with a $1,000,000 like the Reeses of this world. It all builds up from making one add, getting one person to see your site, getting one person to buy. But from that start you want it to snowball.
How much money do you want to make? Do you know? A lot? Isn’t a good answer. You need to know exactly where you are aiming for, otherwise you’re drifting. Need to have a target to reach. This target will shift and change as your life moves on, but essentially you need one to begin with and you need to put an achievable time limit on reaching it.
The amount of energy and effort needed to start this process is disproportionate to the rest of the ride, but that’s the learning curve and as your momentum increases it will start to click, more elements of this complex business will start to slip into gear, and those initial fears you will look back on and laugh at.
So I started to take others advice and just sat down and did the nitty gritty of writing, getting my head around the problems I was having with hosts, links, traffic, using WordPress – before that I’d just used boring old html! The thing I kept in mind was that if today’s results are rubbish, then I have to learn from that, decide what didn’t work and focus on the things that did.
Starting is the biggy.
